Hito! follows Chinese Taipei, the team that represents Taiwan in international baseball competitions, on their remarkable eleven-year journey from the heartbreak of the 2013 World Baseball Classic to a stunning 2024 world championship win. Once ranked near the bottom, the team battled through doubts, setbacks, and a demanding schedule under head coach Tseng Hao-chiu. Their determination and teamwork led to a dramatic victory over Japan and a powerful moment of pride for fans everywhere.
Directed by Lungnan Isak Fangas, the film blends personal stories, high-quality Premier12 footage, and revealing player interviews to show how this team found the strength to keep fighting. Hero! Hito! is an inspiring story about resilience, unity, and the heart of a team representing Taiwan.
About the Director
Lungnan Isak Fangas
Lungnan Isak Fangas is a filmmaker and producer at Wonderful Time Film Production. He studied sociology at National Taiwan University before earning his MFA in Film Production from the University of Texas at Austin. After returning to Taiwan, he focused on documentary storytelling, with his films screening at festivals in Taiwan, the United States, and South Korea. His documentary Ocean Fever received multiple awards and strong international recognition.
Lungnan’s first major producing work, Taivalu, won both the Grand Prize and Best Documentary at the 2011 Taipei Film Festival. His later projects include On The Road, La Michael, and Ga-Tau Chang, which premiered at the Taipei Golden Horse International Film Festival. He also produced Six Desires, selected for the Series section of the Golden Horse Film Project Promotion. Fangas has taught at several universities and served as a juror for major film festivals in Taiwan.
