About TFFB
Founded in 2019, the Taiwan Film Festival of Boston (TFFB) is a non-profit organization that strives to foster cross-cultural connection amongst its communities within Taiwan, North America, and beyond through the showcasing of compelling stories that revolve around poignant topics of growth, identity, discovery, and adventure. By bringing in Taiwanese films that are rich in authenticity and multiplicitous diversity, TFFB aims to highlight the cultural beauty of Taiwan as a nation brimming with international flavors and transcendent artistry. With poignant screenings and engaging panel discussions featuring the creators behind Taiwan’s most celebrated films, we aim to show how Taiwan is a cultural and cinematic powerhouse that empowers audiences and filmmakers– both young and old, international and domestic– to establish a multi-national community filled with unceasing love, understanding, compassion, and above all, meaningful conversation.

Our Mission
A heart-to-heart with team members!
The mission of the Taiwan Film Festival emphasizes connection and dialogue. We aim to build a North American network of festivals and screenings, allowing new audiences to discover these films and promoting exchange and cooperation between filmmakers from Taiwan and across the world. Likewise, we aim to create a dialogue between films, filmmakers, critics, and audiences. Cinema provides a space that can transcend time, space, and culture, and we believe in the power of Taiwanese cinema to promote a cultural connection between communities in Taiwan, North America, and beyond.
Who We Are
The festival was conceived and organized by a group of volunteers and Taiwanese movie lovers in the Greater Boston Area. To facilitate our goals and achieve our mission, we founded a nonprofit organization, the Taiwanese Film Festival of Boston. We hope to promote Taiwanese culture through films and bring the stories of Taiwan to the world stage. We welcome other North American cities to join us and co-facilitate future film festivals.
